Method to determine zipper strength
There are many testing methods for zipper strength. The basic strength can be expressed by the results obtained by the following testing methods. Based on the measured values of several basic strengths, the comprehensive strength suitable for zipper use can be judged.
1. Lateral tension resistance of zipper (/2.5cm)
Determination of the tensile strength of ordinary zippers; pull up the zipper, and apply force on the zipper at a perpendicular angle to the zipper side at a fixed speed to measure the tensile strength.
2.Tension resistance at top of zipper
Fix the bottom end of the zipper, pull the zipper to the top of the zipper, and apply universal force to the zipper at the top of the zipper to measure the tension.
3.Tension resistance at the bottom of the zipper
Pull the zipper to the bottom of the zipper and use two flat chains, one on the left and one on the right, to measure the tension at the bottom.
4.Horizontal tension resistance at the bottom of the zipper
The lower open part of the zipper is fixed to the tensile detector so that the first zipper tooth at the lower end of the zipper is in line with the edge of the clamp so that its tensile strength can be measured.
5.Zipper buckle locking strength
The zipper buckle is locked in the middle of the zipper, and the two single zippers are not meshed, one on the left and one on the right. The zipper locking strength and zipper resistance strength can be tested.
6.The overall strength of the zipper buckle
For a complete zipper buckle, when the force acts on the zipper piece and its lower zipper buckle part, the tensile strength of the zipper buckle can be measured. In addition to the 90 measurement method shown in the left picture, another method is the 45 measurement method.
